TUCSON, AZ (January 12, 2015) – TriSports strives to partner with forward-thinking organizations in an effort to help grow the sport. To this end, TriSports is excited to announce a new partnership with US Military Endurance Sports (USMES). Founded in 2010, USMES is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity organization chartered to support endurance sports education and activities for current, retired, and Veteran members of the United States Uniform Services. USMES began operations as an elite amateur cycling team and, over the course of five years, has grown into a thriving multi-sport recreational, development, and elite athletic program. In 2014, USMES added triathlon and adaptive cycling as supported sports and is welcoming distance runners and adventure racers for the 2015 season. In addition to supporting active cyclists, adaptive cyclists, runners, and triathletes, USMES seeks to raise awareness of the physical and psychological benefits of endurance sports within our military communities.
USMES has been coming to Tucson, AZ, the Winter Training Capital, with their camps for many years and have been supported by TriSports.com with SAG, guest speakers, special shopping nights and more. Through this relationship, USMES and TriSports came to an agreement to extend support to all parts of the organization. “I am very excited about increasing our partnership with TriSports. The outstanding support TriSports provides will make the USMES spring camp a world class experience for our Veteran and Military athletes. With the addition of TriSports as an official retail partner of the team and club, support will extend to our member athletes throughout the country and around the world. We look forward to working with them again this year,” said USAFR Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Bill Jacobus, Executive Director, USMES.
Being involved with the USMES camps has been an honor for TriSports and its staff members, some of whom are retired military. It seemed a natural fit to tailor a partnership to include the rest of the organization as TriSports has the ability and knowledge to serve these athletes, no matter where they call home. Debbie Claggett, Vice President of TriSports, had this to share, “When approached by USMES to see if we had interest in extending our support to the entire organization, there was no hesitation. We are proud to serve these athletes who serve our country. Our expertise is triathlon and shipping, and with USMES club and team members spread all over the world, it made perfect sense to develop a partnership that would, in essence, provide them all with a ‘local’ multisport shop.”
