TUCSON, AZ (December 7, 2015) – TriSports.com has marked an impressive milestone for the company; the employees reached 200,000 bicycle commuter miles since starting the program in 2009. This is a momentous achievement for the company in its effort to create a sustainable business with little impact to its ecological footprint. Currently, over 60% of the employees participate in the commuter program, and of those who commute, 80% do so more than twice a week.
The TriSports.com Commuter Program provides rewards to employees for cycling or running to and from work. The employee earns $.10 in store credit for every mile commuted to and from work from their home. The company has showers, locker rooms, and a place to securely park their bicycle to encourage commuting to the office. All commuter miles are recorded over the course of the year and at the end of the year, the top achiever in total trips completed and total miles completed are both recognized by the company with a hand-made trophy by Seton Claggett, CEO and artisan.
TriSports.com encourages cycling to reduce the environmental impact made in the community, as well as promoting a healthy and active lifestyle to its employees. Other incentives are offered to TriSports.com commuters, 50 days in a year receive $25 in store credit, 100 days receive $50, 150 days receive $75, and 200 days receive $100.
