TUCSON, AZ (January 20, 2016) – TriSports.com is supporting World Bicycle Relief (WBR), helping to mobilize communities in rural Africa through the power of bicycles. WBR provides rugged, locally assembled bikes to students, healthcare workers, and local entrepreneurs. WBR trains local field mechanics to ensure bike maintenance and parts are available, while providing a new career infrastructure and preserving the lifetime of these bikes. TriSports is excited to participate in the WBR mission and aid the organization to obtain more Buffalo Bicycles and donations, as well as create awareness about the cause.
WBR delivers Buffalo Bicycles to communities in need, which helps them by broadening access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. The Buffalo Bicycles are specially designed to be functional and durable for the rough, African terrain and substantial load requirements that students, healthcare workers, and entrepreneurs require. For every ten miles traveled, a bike saves three hours of time. With just one bicycle, student attendance increased by 28%; grades improved by 59%. Healthcare workers are able to reach patients at greater distances and see them more frequently. An entrepreneur using a bike is able to carry five times the load as opposed to walking, travel four times further, and increase profits by up to 50%.
TriSports is donating five of the Buffalo Bicycles to the cause to provide five individuals greater opportunities to prosper. Additionally, from now until the end of April, for every two 2016 model year bikes sold, TriSports will donate one Buffalo Bicycle to WBR. TriSports is also giving 100% of the proceeds from sales of the WBR Stem Caps to the program. Individuals can donate directly to WBR by visiting their website, worldbicyclerelief.org.

At TriSports.com, our company culture is bettering our environment, not just in an eco-friendly sense, but taking action to improve the condition of both our local and global community. World Bicycle Relief is making a difference in people’s lives in these developing nations, one bicycle at a time. A bicycle becomes a vehicle for change in these communities, empowering people and providing opportunities to thrive, and we want to be a part of that change, which is why we are getting involved with WBR.”
